A Cop Gave An Attempted Murderer A Gift In Court And Wiped The Smile Right Off His Face…

It seems to me that karma can be a fickle mistress. I’ve witnessed no end of examples in my life of someone doing wrong but seemingly not being punished for it, which is why it tends to make me happy when people are served at the table of justice.

Kevin Rojas was 19 years old when he attempted to kill an undercover Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office officer, shooting him four times through his car windshield.

The officer was not identified due to his continued undercover work. But he made sure to send Rojas off with a going-away present that may get a lot of use. And the present will probably get a lot of use now that Rojas will have to face the harsh life behind bars.

The unidentified cop said:

“I will take those bullets instead of a fellow officer or innocent bystander. When I brought the fight back, you ran like a coward.”

Not only did this truth hurt Rojas where it should, but the officer also continued by putting salt in the wound with a present.

“I brought a little gift for you. You will need it where you are going.”

He then pulled out a bottle of lotion. There are some reports that indicated it was a bottle of KY lubricant. Either way, it wiped the smirk off his attacker’s face as he entered the courtroom.

Why did Rojas try to kill the cop?

The officer, who was with his teenage son at the time, decided to make a traffic stop, only for Rojas to get out of his car and fire off shots in his direction.

Fortunately, the officer’s son wasn’t hit, but the officer himself was four times. He was struck in the face, stomach, and hand, but ultimately survived the encounter, even retaining the wherewithal to get off his own rounds in return.

When he did so, Rojas fled the scene, stealing a truck and racing back to barricade himself inside his home. When officers arrived at the house they were able to subdue Rojas, shooting him in the torso, leg, and hand through a glass door when he refused to drop his gun.

The thug would later be found guilty of attempted first-degree murder, attempted manslaughter, two counts of aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, grand theft auto, and fleeing. All told, he was sentenced to life in prison with a minimum sentence of 25 years.
