A Top Liberal Newspaper Just Found Themselves In A World Of…
We’ve seen this before…Liberals think they are invincible and overplay their hand and that is exactly what is happening at the Washington Post.
The Post is scrambling to brush a fake news scandal under the rug after tech writer Taylor Lorenz went out of control.
The reporter recently made headlines when she went after the powerful Libs of Tik Tok social media account that is uncovering radical leftists in schools. Lorenz stalked family members and was hoping her article would silence the account however, she failed now the social media account is more popular than ever.
Lorenz got a lot of backlash over the report because in the original version published by the Post they linked to the social media account administrator’s personal information doxxing her. Shortly, after the original piece was posted the Post removed the link because of the outrage.
However, Lorenz is now on thin ice and is one step away from becoming a major legal liability for the Post.
The radical leftist claimed that an editor for the website “The Drudge Report” was harassing her and threatening to ruin her career. Lorenz didn’t do any investigating she just posted the claims on Twitter rallying support from her leftist friends.
That prompted Matt Drudge (who is kind of a recluse) to contact her directly and wanted to know who was threatening her. That surprised Lorenz and Drudge informed her that no member of his staff has ever contacted her. Drudge also told Lorenz he wanted a retraction.
Lorenz did delete her original post and wrote a retraction and then things got weird.
Lorenz wrote, “For anyone who saw my post abt this man claiming to be from Drudge calling me non stop, good news: I heard from Matt Drudge & this man has zero power over Drudge! He’s claiming to be an editor all over the internet but he’s not. Sorry to disappoint everyone saying Drudge is based.”
CNN’s Oliver Darcy contacted Lorenz who said her initial tweets were a “joke.”
From CNN’s Oliver Darcy:
“Lorenz told me that her initial tweets were a “joke” and that she found the idea someone could harm her career via the Drudge Report “hilarious.” Lorenz said she was “laughing very hard about the idea” and was simply joking about it online. “I am happy to correct the record that I have no drama with Drudge Report,” Lorenz told me.
Darcy followed up with the Washington Post after Lorenz’s statement and they claimed, “Taylor was repeatedly contacted by someone who claimed to be a Drudge editor. As soon as she learned the person had no connection to the Drudge Report, she deleted the original tweet and wrote a tweet apologizing for her comment…”
If that’s not a CYA response I don’t know what is.
The Washington Post needs to release these threatening emails to the public because this sounds like a reporter is going off the rails. Why would her initial post be a “joke” if she was actually being threatened?
Lorenz shouldn’t be “laughing very hard about the idea” of the Drudge Report ruining her career because back in the day they did. The Drudge Report of old had a reputation for taking down radical leftists but sometime around 2018, they sold out to the establishment.
