HA! They Just Handed The GOP A Senate Seat On A SILVER PLATTER!

Even in Democrat strongholds like New York, the DNC seems to be in disarray.

For the 2022 election, Hochul, who is running for her first official term as governor once again picked Brian Benjamin as her unofficial running mate (it’s unofficial because Lt. Governor are voted separately and voters don’t have to choose the governor’s pick). However, Benjamin was indicted on federal bribery and corruption charges and was forced to resign from office.

Since Hochul didn’t have a running mate for the election she chose Democratic Congressman Antonio Degado who happened to represent a swing district in upstate New York. That turned the state DNC upside down after Democrats realized the nomination combined with the current political climate may have just given the GOP another House seat.

From the New York Post:

Gov. Kathy Hochul’s selection of Rep. Antonio Delgado to replace her indicted former lieutenant governor and running mate could cost national Democrats a seat in their already razor-thin majority in the House of Representatives.

Delgado is a two-term incumbent congressman representing the 19th congressional district that includes the Mid-Hudson Valley, Catskills and other parts of upstate.

He replaces former Lt. Gov. Brian Benjamin, who resigned and was removed from the ballot after the feds indicted him in a pay-to-play corruption scheme. Benjamin maintains his innocence.

The DNC in New York is now fighting over who should be Hochul’s nominee in an attempt to not give the GOP another seat in DC. According to the board of elections in 2020 Joe Biden won Delgado’s district by a mere 1% and Republicans are energized for the 2022 midterms.

Additionally, the courts in New York are redrawing congressional districts after Democrats in New York tried to eliminate most red/purple districts in the state.

Democrats thought when Biden was elected in 2020 that they would usher in dominance over conservatives but the Democrat mandate has been a total failure.

After all the shenanigans that went on in 2020, it sure seems like what goes around, surely comes around.
