Even the slightest criticism of the left, especially from one of their own, can send liberals reeling. This is especially true when it comes to the mainstream media. They simply can’t seem to handle the truth.

A high-profile liberal media personality just unloaded on the constant negative attacks against former President Donald Trump and his supporters. His truthful assessment shocked fellow liberals.

HBO talk-show host Bill Maher told former CBS News anchor Katie Couric during a podcast released Sunday evening that he was “bored” with media coverage of former President Donald Trump’s supporters.

“Here’s what happened. Here’s what people saw in America: They saw Trump killing it, killing it with the crowd,” Maher, a stand-up comedian, said. “Then you come to a panel of six people who all just do nothing but dump on him and call him a liar. And America goes, ‘Oh, didn’t you just see that we like him?’”

“And there’s a different way to do this, I think, which is not to defend Trump, but to defend the people who still vote for him, because what they see on the other side to them is even more dangerous, because it’s very closer to home.”

Maher was referencing a CNN town hall with Trump where the hosts tried every way to undermine the former president and his supporters. Maher argued that while some Trump supporters may not like him, they view him as the only option to confront issues such as education or transgender ideology.

“‘We don’t like him, but he’s all that stands between us and madness,’” Maher told Couric. “That’s their view. I would like that view presented.”

Maher may not get his wish for mainstream media to cover Trump supporters in a truthful manner. The comedian and talk show host made it clear that he can’t stand Trump and has been highly critical of him. Maher wants the media to show the truth about the people who support Trump and give a voice to their views.

Despite the liberal media’s full-court attempts to undermine Trump, he holds a 0.2% lead over Biden in the RealClearPolitics average of general election polls for a head-to-head matchup. Trump’s lead spikes to 1.8% when third-party candidates are added to the mix. These include Green Party candidate Jill Stein and independent candidates Cornel West and Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

Maher made it clear that he is “bored” with the barrage of negative news coverage against Trump and his supporters. He said people loved Trump and what he was saying during the town hall, and the media needs to cover that view fairly.
