In an unpleasant confrontation with reporters on the tarmac at Heathrow before his trip to Brussels, Joe Biden disrespected Queen Elizabeth.
On a beautiful Sunday day, President Joe Biden with his aviator sunglasses greeted Queen Elizabeth II.
The president and first lady Jill Biden were guests of the queen at Windsor Castle, her royal palace in London. After completing a three-day conference of leaders of the world’s wealthy democracies in Cornwall, southwestern England, Biden flew to London. He arrived at the castle by presidential helicopter and was escorted by a black Range Rover to the queen.
In the castle’s quadrangle, President Joe Biden greeted by the 95-year-old monarch where she waited beneath a covered dais that shielded her from the sun on one of the hottest days of the year so far in the United Kingdom. As the US national anthem was performed, assembled soldiers from the Queen’s Company First Battalion Grenadier Guards made a royal salute. The Bidens placed their hands over their hearts.
After that, the president was brought across the grass to inspect the Guard of Honor. After removing his trademark sunglasses, he had a stern expression on his face, but when the 78-year-old Biden reached the end of the row, he smiled at the soldier in front of him who was holding a sword. Jill Biden and the queen remained on the dais.
Before going inside for tea, Biden returned to the dais, where he, the first lady, and the white-gloved woman who has held the British monarch for nearly 70 years watched the military march past. Biden extended an elbow to the queen as they walked away from the dais. She declined and used the handrail to take a step down on her own.
The Bidens exited the palace shortly after spending an hour with the queen and boarded the helicopter for their return flight.

As the President was departing England for Belgium, Biden insulted the Queen.
“I don’t think she’d be insulted but she reminded me of my mother, the look of her and just the generosity,” Biden said of the queen who is barely 17 years older than him.
