Days After Anti-Israel Protests Explode – Liberal Schools Slammed with Terrible Karma
Since October, college students have been protesting Israel. These progressive Americans have blamed Israel for the horrific Hamas attack. They have sided with pro-Palestinian forces, calling the Jewish nation an “apartheid state.”
Because college presidents refused to confront these students, the protests have gotten worse.
In recent weeks, students have occupied college campuses, causing damage in the form of vandalism and graffiti. The rife antisemitism of this movement is disgusting Americans, especially alumni of these colleges. And now, these schools might lose much more than respect.
From Just the News:
Anti-Israel encampments and vandalism have targeted dozens of U.S. college campuses, costing millions of dollars in estimated damages as prominent donors pledge to no longer support the schools.Cal Poly Humboldt administrators estimate that the cost of the damage to the campus is “in the millions,”…
Even schools that do not have encampments are still being forced to clean up anti-Israel graffiti…
New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft, billionaire investor Leon Cooperman and industrialist Len Blavatnik have withdrawn donations to Columbia University or are considering doing so following the anti-Israel demonstrations on campus.
Already, the protests by progressive anti-Zionists are costing American colleges millions. Schools from coast to coast have to spend untold amounts of money to repair damage from radical protesters. In some cases, non-students are infiltrating these groups to provoke more violence and damage.
Some schools have closed entire buildings, to avoid more damage. This has deprived students of access to classes and resources, which could further erode enrollment in the coming years. Already, students are turning away from big schools, refusing to apply because of this controversy. This trend might continue for years to come.
On top of that, big donors are pulling funds from schools. Robert Kraft, Leon Cooperman, and Len Blavatnik have stopped donating to Columbia, which will cost the school up to $100 million. Such a blow is devastating to a school; yet, they could have avoided it had school leaders rebuked students and penalized professors who are encouraging this behavior.
Graduation ceremonies have been canceled. Applications to once-respected universities are down. It might not be long before most American colleges are reduced to laughingstocks.
Key Takeaways:
- Colleges are losing millions to repair damage from anti-Israel protesters.
- Big donors, including billionaires, are withdrawing hundreds of millions in contributions.
- School presidents have refused to confront students and professors who have been protesting for months.
