A recently uncovered Zoom recording has exposed the Biden-Harris campaign’s deliberate efforts to influence voters and control the narrative about Biden’s fitness for office.

The recording, obtained by journalist and video creator Matt Orfalea, reveals how high-ranking officials within the campaign worked to categorize legitimate concerns about Biden’s cognitive abilities as “disinformation” during the crucial 2020 election cycle.

Orfalea detailed his discoveries from the Zoom call in a series of posts on social media platform X.

The recording features Rob Flaherty, who was the digital director for the Biden campaign and now serves as Deputy Campaign Manager; Becca Rinkevich, who was Biden’s Rapid Response Director and later became Deputy Director of Digital Strategy at the White House; and Tim Durigan, creator and lead analyst of the DNC Counter-Disinformation Program.

During the call, Flaherty openly discusses the DNC’s strategic effort to “identify, monitor, and censor misinformation” or narratives considered detrimental to Biden.

He describes this effort as “crucial” and “one of the most significant decisions” made by the party in recent years.

“One of the smartest things that I think the party did itself was over the last couple of years, they actually invested in a team that Tim runs, and you’ll hear from Tim, to detect and track misinformation and misinformation narratives in the various corners of the Internet, and then actually go out and flag it to platforms as a violation of their policy,” Flaherty said.

Orfalea states that the emails from Flaherty reveal that the disinformation program continued into the White House following the election theft and false claims about Biden’s mental sharpness. The program included attempts to influence social media platforms like Facebook to suppress conservative figures such as Tucker Carlson and Tomi Lahren.

Flaherty mentioned during the Zoom call that “misinformation narratives” encompassed talks about Biden’s mental acuity and his history with crime legislation.

Becca Rinkevich reiterated this view by classifying conversations about Biden’s mental sharpness as “misinformation.”

“We saw a huge amount of volume and a lot of impact on narratives like Joe Biden was being manipulated by the radical left and disinformation around his mental acuity,” Rinkevich said.

Orfalea’s report revealed that the Biden campaign utilized psychographic targeting methods similar to those employed by Cambridge Analytica in the 2016 election. Rinkevich detailed how they pinpointed voters based on their online activities and customized their messaging to align with this data. The objective was to combat what they perceived as misinformation about Biden’s mental acuity by flooding voters with carefully curated material intended to alter their viewpoints.

“”We targeted folks based on online behavioral cues, building out personas, based on the type of content they were consuming, what they were searching, the kinds of websites they were visiting so that we could target folks in real-time as they were exposed to that disinformation,” Rinkevich said.

Orfalea reported that when searching for terms such as “Biden” and “senile,” individuals were inundated with videos of Biden speaking clearly in an attempt to refute any narrative indicating cognitive decline.

The campaign also harnessed the power of online influencers to combat so-called disinformation. Flaherty cited concerns over Biden’s mental fitness as an example of disinformation that needed addressing through digital organizing.

“I know there’s a second panel we’re doing on digital organizing. We had one of the largest digital organizing operations that everyone set up. And that goes from a YouTube creator all the way down to a pastor who has a Facebook following that is big in Florida.”

“So for example, if there was this question about the President-elect’s mental fitness, which was a hit against him that the polling found to be effective. It was also very easy to ameliorate by showing content of the vice president speaking, right?

“Because that gives people proof without showing them up, right? And so those people to share content that did that thing and that helped just prove from a research perspective the thing without being in their face about it, saying fact check, or if you believe this is wrong. And so that was just one example.

Tim Durigan also expressed concerns about what he referred to as “genuine misinformation.” His remarks implied a preference for social media platforms to censor accurate information that goes against the established narrative, while promoting what he considered to be “authoritative” news sources such as The New York Times.

Orfalea stated that shortly after Durigan’s comments, The New York Times dismissed worries about Biden’s mental health as “unfounded rumors” spread by conservative influencers.
