Kamala Harris, the Democratic presidential nominee, recently conducted her first media interview since winning the nomination. However, according to a body language expert, her performance has sparked concerns about her confidence and presidential demeanor.
Body language professional Susan Constantine offered her analysis to Fox News Digital after watching Harris’s interview on CNN with her running mate, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz.
Constantine noted that Harris frequently glanced downward while addressing questions, which she feels diminishes her sense of authority and authenticity.
“When I look at her overall demeanor, she does not carry the confidence or the presidential appearance in her demeanor to command in her position,” Constantine noted. “So for everything that I saw last night, she definitely needs to make some tweaks into her body language to appear more confident.”
The interview, conducted in Savannah, Georgia, presented Harris with an opportunity to outline her agenda for day one if elected.
However, Constantine interpreted Harris’s responses as lacking in specificity, describing them as general rather than specific, indicating a lack of preparedness.
“When she struggles, you start to see a lot of the head bobbling. You know, the head bobbling is ‘what part of the file in my subconscious am I going to pull out? Which ones are my answers?’ She couldn’t come up with a crystal clear answer, and that’s why she tends to bobble,” explained Constantine.
Constantine observed that Harris’ physical cues, like head bobbing and avoiding eye contact, indicated that she was not fully prepared and lacked confidence in her responses.
“When you bobble and waffle like that, that’s another signal that she’s not really… prepared. She doesn’t really have confidence in her own answers. When you’re breaking gaze, that is a form of deflection,” she said. “So when you’re removing an eye gaze, not making good eye contact, it’s just showing me that she’s not confident in what she’s saying.”
Constantine observed that during the interview, the interaction between Harris and Walz caught her attention. She noted that Harris seemed to be seeking validation from Walz, who appeared more composed.
“She is looking for that signal from Walz to see if he’s on board. Many times when we see him, he’s got the pressed lips — that tends to be a more serious, more collected, expression in his mouth,” Constantine commented.
Byron Donald also called out Kamala’s body language.

The body language expert concluded her analysis with a pointed piece of advice for Harris, reflecting on the expectations of leadership appearance. “Overall, you know, as one woman to another, I would say if you’re going to be a woman in power, you have to look like a woman in power,” Constantine remarked. “And she doesn’t at this time.”
JD Vance said he ‘felt a little bad for her.’
