Denver, Colorado, along with communities nationwide, is struggling to cope with the influx of undocumented immigrants due to the broken border policies of the Biden administration.

The mayor of Denver has recently slashed $8 million from the police budget in order to continue supporting undocumented individuals.

Advocacy groups are criticizing the city’s offer of six months of free housing and food as insufficient and offensive.

In response, a new initiative is urging residents with available space to open their homes to undocumented immigrants.

A hotline has been established to streamline this process.

The organization ‘Hope Has No Borders’ is actively working to connect undocumented individuals with host families throughout Colorado, and this matching process can now be expedited through the hotline service.

KDVR reports, “Now, with help from the United Way, getting paired up is a simple phone call away by dialing 211.”

What could possibly go wrong?

Erin Lennon is one of the many hosts the organization has paired with migrants. She didn’t realize the scope of Denver’s migrant crisis until talking with a friend late last year.

“Wow this is not just a little problem, this is a big problem,” she remembers thinking.

A single mom with a spare bedroom in the house, she felt a call to help.

“Why aren’t you doing something? You know?” she said. “Just in my heart, that’s what I was telling myself.”

She found her solution through Hope Has No Borders, which has paired 500 migrants with host families since late last year.

These “generous” individuals are not offering assistance out of the goodness of their hearts. T

he organization compensates hosts with financial stipends to cover expenses such as food and utility bills.

With a population exceeding 700,000, Denver is predominantly Democratic, with 79.6% of residents aligning with this political party.

It is considered the most liberal city in Colorado.

Over the past 15 months, nearly 40,000 individuals have migrated to Denver.

If every Democrat in the city welcomed an undocumented immigrant into their home, all of them could be provided shelter.

Given these circumstances, why do some undocumented immigrants in Denver still lack accommodation from left-leaning individuals?
