Fani Willis Accused Of Inappropriate Relationship With Prosecutor, May Sink Entire Trump Case..

In court filings this week related to Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis’ extensive RICO case against former President Donald Trump and his associates, one of the co-defendants, Michael Roman, alleged an “improper” relationship between Willis and special prosecutor Nathan Wade. The filing contends that Wade, a private lawyer, funded vacations shared with Willis using compensation his law firm received from the county for work on the case, totaling around $650,000.

The motion, filed on behalf of Roman, a former Trump campaign official, lacks concrete proof of romantic ties between Willis and Wade but asserts that “sources close to both the special prosecutor and the district attorney have confirmed they had an ongoing, personal relationship,” as reported by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution (AJC).

Seeking the dismissal of charges against Roman and the disqualification of Wade and the entire D.A.’s team from further involvement, the motion suggests that some activities may constitute “honest services fraud,” a federal offense involving kickbacks from a vendor to an employer.

The AJC highlighted that the motion might aim to “muddy the waters by questioning Willis’ professional ethics.”

In response, a spokesperson for Willis stated that the D.A.’s office would address the allegations “through appropriate court filings.”

Several co-defendants in the case have reportedly flipped and agreed to testify against others, including attorneys who represented Trump post-2020 election, such as Sidney Powell, Jenna Ellis, and Kenneth Chesebro.
