Fani Willis Just Got Very Bad News – Georgia Court Just Blindsided Her Anti-Trump Crusade
With all of the court cases being thrown at President Trump lately its hard to keep track of everything that is going on. He’s currently battling a case in Georgia over claims around 2020, alongside 13 others. While Trump has pleaded not guilty to the charges, they still loom over him during his campaign.
The District Attoryney overseeing the case, Fani Willis, has drawn extreme scrutiny due to what many perceive to be a strong bias against Trump. There have been many questions of impartiality brought up as well as issues surrounding her relationship with her appointed special prosecutor Nathan Wade. Trump has claimed that the case should be dismissed and the DA Willis should be disqualified for her misconduct and political persecution. These claims from Trump have largely been ruled against but the wind might have just changed in his favor.
Check out this latest update:
The Court of Appeals for the State of Georgia agreed on Wednesday to consider former President Donald Trump‘s appeal of a judge’s decision not to remove Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis from prosecuting his sweeping racketeering case.
This is actually huge. The lower courts had disregarded Trumps counter-claims against Fani Willis and so she was still overseeing Trump’s case. However, the Court of Appeals agreeing to consider Trump’s appeal could change absolutely everything. If they believe there are enough issues with Fani to remove her, she could be replaced by a more impartial judge that could change Trump’s fate forever – depending on how the ruling goes.
Efforts to disqualify Willis were first spurred by Mike Roman, a Republican operative who is one of Trump’s allies charged in the sweeping racketeering indictment. Roman’s lawyer, Ashleigh Merchant, first revealed allegations of a previous long-term relationship between Willis and Wade in a Jan. 8 complaint filed to McAfee.
Some are saying that he’s just trying to muddy the waters and disqualify someone who is likely to rule against Donald, but others are saying that her violations are a clear conflict of interest and shows a lack of discretion and ethics and therefore should be thrown out. Regardless of how you look at it, its never great when the person who is supposed to be on the side of justice is involved in their own lawsuits and drama. It’s just always going to call into question whether or not they are making the right decision.
Hopefully we will hear the Court of Appeals decision soon as every day that passes we get closer and closer to November where these court cases will affect how people view Trump and whether or not he is fit to be President. What do you think, should Fani Willis be disqualified and replaced with a better person?
