The ‘Red Wave’ Has Begun…
In advance of this November’s midterm congressional elections, a political shift is already being felt across the country as hundreds of thousands of voters who helped fuel the Democratic Party’s gains in recent years are becoming Republicans.
According to voter registration statistics examined by the Associated Press, nearly 1 million voters in 43 states have shifted from the Democratic Party to the Republican Party in the past year. The previously unknown figure represents a tendency that has emerged in almost every section of the country since Joe Biden took over as president, including Democratic and Republican states, cities, and small towns.
Even if they don’t identify as conservatives, many normal Americans are joining the GOP because of the destructive economic and social policies of the Democrats.
Well, this is the last thing Democrats will want to hear now that we are less than six months away from the 2022 midterm elections.
The AP’s results were released just one week after President Joe Biden’s approval rating at this stage of his administration dropped to its lowest level in presidential history. The report indicated that Democrats have acquired 630,000 voters over the same time period as the GOP gained 1 million enrolled voters.
However, the trend is a major red wave in many states.
Here’s what AP reported:
More people have switched to the GOP over the past year in suburban counties from Denver to Atlanta, Pittsburgh, and Cleveland. In the counties around medium-sized cities like Harrisburg, Pennsylvania; Raleigh, North Carolina; Augusta, Georgia; and Des Moines, Iowa, Republicans also made gains.
Ben Smith, a 37-year-old professional counselor whose transition away from the Democratic Party began five or six years ago when he registered as a libertarian said, “It’s more so a rejection of the left than embracing the right.”
Democrats who were already concerned about the macro effects affecting the political landscape this November are given a dire warning by information regarding party switchers.
RNC Chair Ronna McDaniel told the AP that “Biden and Democrats are tragically out of touch with the American people, which is why Americans are coming to the Republican Party in droves.” She projected that due to “Biden’s gas price spike, the open border situation, the shortage of baby formula, and rising crime,” “American suburbia will trend red for cycles to come.”
This is a significant national movement that will probably have a significant effect in November and each week that goes by increases the probability of a red wave.
