Jessica Simpson might be proud of her body, but not her critics.
Jessica has been in the spotlight for a long time between her music career, a stint on reality TV, and as an author. She’s also a mama to three kids, and she recently posted a photo on Instagram celebrating that she’s finally comfortable in the skin she’s in.
However, Jessica has been facing harsh criticism after posting more photos of herself in a bikini to show off her body post-weight loss.
Jessica took to Instagram on April 7 and shared a bikini selfie photo and a milestone she was happy to achieve.
Jessica is a mom to 9-year-old Maxwell, 8-year-old Ace, and 3-year-old Birdie Mae with husband Eric Johnson, a former NFL player. After having her kids, she admitted to struggling with her weight. Now she’s celebrating that she’s lost the weight — again.
“I have gained and lost 100lbs 3x so I never thought this moment could or would happen,” she wrote in the caption, “but I’m finally spring breakin’ wearin’ a BIKINI!!!!!!”
Standing on a deck outside in the sun, Jessica paired her paisley pink bikini with a pair of oversized sunglasses and a hat. She was very clearly happy, as evidenced by the big smile on her face.
Reaching the goal she seemingly set for herself wasn’t easy, she shared. Adding to the caption, Jessica wrote:
“Hard work, Determination, Self Love.”
In addition, she also “enjoyed a good proud cry today.”
Commenters took to her post to share one of three reactions. The first group of people left notes of congratulations for reaching a goal she set for herself and acknowledging the “hard work” she had to do to get there.
There were many people who criticized Jessica’s post and her photo.
“I’m saddened by this photo,” wrote someone else. “You are way to[o] thin to the point of malnourishment I hope you realize that your beauty is not your weight, and the best gift you can give your children is to not equate weight/looks with self worth.”
“Nice — That’s what being rich and a personal trainer gets ya,” added another person.
Others took aim, accusing her of taking an “easy” way to weight loss.
“Oh for crying out loud…. This is all plastic surgery,” one critic wrote. “Wake up ladies!”
“But in your book you said you got a tummy tuck so that helps tremendously!” another person shared.
Others said Jessica’s belly button is a “dead giveaway” that she “had a tummy tuck.”
“Look at your belly button. You had a tummy tuck!!” someone wrote. “Doesn’t count… sorry!”
