This High School Basketbrawl That Was Caught On Camera Will Make You…

A juvenile girl suffered a concussion and her mother was “in shock” after a nasty cheap shot during a basketball match in California.

According to the report, 15-year-old Lauryn Ham received a sucker punch from one of her opponents during a match in Southern California. Her mother claims that she is still recovering from the vicious hit she received over the incident.

Everything appeared to be going smoothly until Ham’s opponent sucker-punches her, knocking her to the ground and causing a concussion, as seen in the footage. Two girls collided on the court, one of which was Ham.

“The person in question went down the court and shot a 3-pointer, landed, fell backward into my daughter, as they got up and turned and were walking back down to the other side of the court, [the attacker’s] mom says to her, ‘You need to hit her for that.’ And, the child in question sucker-punched my daughter,” Alice Ham, the victim’s mother, recalled.

“Of course I was in total shock,” Alice told ABC7.Just couldn’t believe that could happen to my child.”Simply because the other girl went backward and landed on Lauryn Ham, leaving Alice in full disbelief, it is said that the mother of the other athlete gave her child the order to punch the other girl.

Ham said her daughter was disoriented when she came home after the game. Expressing the shock she still felt over the ordeal, Alice  said, “You always see things on video and you never think it could happen to you, To actually see it and know that was my kid just hurt me so bad[ly].”

The mother told the outlet that she filed a police report and that she felt “it rises to the level of assault, the way that she does it with such intent and brutal force.”

Alice shared a clip of the incident to Instagram, captioning the post:

“This right here makes me SICK to my stomach. This happened to MY DAUGHTER at her game yesterday.”

“There is absolutely no place for something like this in basketball, I don’t care how famous you are! This mum told her daughter to ‘go and hit her’ and my kid gets an unprovoked sucker punch. I’m sorry but it’s everything that’s wrong with youth sports.”

“The girl and her mum showed absolutely no remorse and offered no apology. Youth sports needs to change.”

However, the girl’s family has hired a lawyer to represent them.

Gary Thomas, chief executive of Avac United, the group that hosted the event told KTLA,We’re very sorry … we want everybody to feel safe. We want everyone to feel secure, this is an environment where kids should have fun and enjoy and be safe.”
