The campaign of Vice President Kamala Harris is likely regretting their decision to select Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz (D) as the VP running mate.

Walz has been embroiled in a series of embarrassing scandals related to his military service claims, with many accusing him of stolen valor.

Most recently, a video from a 2004 hearing on PTSD has surfaced, revealing that Walz falsely claimed to have been deployed and served in war despite never having seen combat on the battlefield.

Walz made waves in the news last week when the Harris campaign released a video of him discussing gun control.

In the clip, Walz falsely asserted that he had carried assault-style weapons “into war,” despite never having been in combat.

The repercussions of this incident continue to plague both Walz and the Harris campaign, and a new video is sure to exacerbate their troubles.

As per a report and a video posted on X, during a hearing about PTSD in front of Gold Star families, Walz claimed to have been deployed to Afghanistan, suggesting that he had experienced combat firsthand.

“BREAKING: In newly obtained tape, then-Rep. Tim Walz tells a gold-star family during hearing on PTSD that he was deployed to Afghanistan in 2004 in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, and says he and his troops suffering from mental health issues were “shown the horse whisperer and told to go be nice” the caption of the video read.

Unsurprisingly, Walz faced swift and severe criticism on social media for making such a grave allegation in the presence of families who had lost loved ones in actual wartime service.

The response to the video was intense, provoking strong outrage at Walz’s audacious fabrication, particularly given the sensitive nature of the audience.

“This dude was milking that lie for all it was worth. He should have to apologize to that gold star family,” Juanita Broadderick wrote on her X account.

Another X user wrote, “This guy is just an absolute scumbag.”

It remains to be seen what will be revealed next, and there are already suggestions for Harris to replace Walz with a new candidate. However, given the timing, it is highly improbable that such a change will occur.
