Kamala Harris’ time as the “border czar” is about to end, this is after the House GOP introduces a bill to remove her from her position.

Rep. Ronny Jackson, a Texas Republican-authored the said bill that would remove Harris in no time.  The resolution with 26 co-sponsors, comes as Republicans argue Harris and President Joe Biden failed to handle the border crisis.

The Daily Caller reported that there were 164,973 encounters with migrants at the southern border in February, which is up 7% from January and also a 63% increase from the previous year, according to new U.S. Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) data.

Jackson said in a statement:

“Instead of working for the American people, Kamala Harris has worked against us by ignoring her responsibilities as Border Czar.”

“Rather than doing her job, Harris sits back and watches as illegal immigration skyrockets, countless people at home and abroad are victimized by drug and human trafficking, and CBP officers are left without resources or support from the Biden Administration. Make no mistake – Harris’ approach is by design, and she must be stopped.”

“It is past time for Joe Biden to remove her from the Border Czar role and appoint someone who will put Americans’ interests first. A nation without borders is no nation at all. We need a real leader at the helm who will secure our southern border, and, in turn, our country’s bright future. A single canned photo op and pointless foreign trips to Northern Triangle countries on the taxpayers’ dime are not cutting it. I urge Speaker Pelosi to bring my resolution to the House Floor immediately, for the American peoples’ sake,” Jackson added.

Aside from Jackson, Texas Democrat Rep. Henry Cuellar who represents an area along the southern border, also called for Harris to be replaced as the “border czar” a few months ago.

Cuellar said “I’ve moved on from the vice president to say, ‘OK, let’s work with the ambassadors and let’s work with the State Department. Let’s work with the Homeland Secretary.’”

He added, “I think that’s the way to address it, but I know that the media has put a lot of focus on the vice president, but with all due respect, she was given that title. I don’t think she’s, with all due respect, put the effort in there…We’ve got to look at other folks that have the expertise on that.”

Ever since Harris was appointed as the “border czar,” she’s always been under fire for a year over her failure to visit the crisis at the border.

Talks about Biden’s plan to replace Harris as the Vice President and her nomination to serve on the U.S. Supreme Court have been circulating. One White House insider also points out how total chaos and discontent is going on between Biden and Harris, according to CNN.

“Kamala Harris is a leader but is not being put in positions to lead,” a top Democratic donor said. “[Biden] should be putting her in positions to succeed, as opposed to putting weights on her. If you did give her the ability to step up and help her lead, it would strengthen you and strengthen the party.”
