Marcus’ family has set up a GoFundMe to raise money for funeral costs and many people have donated money… Whilst many pay tribute to Marcus on Twitter, others are condemning the girl who stole the necklace, Bethany Martin.
It was a fine day for Martin and her 16-year-old friend walking at a nearby gas station when they happened to find the dead man [Marcus Adam] in the drainage ditch.
At first, they did not dial 911 to report the dead body, instead, they stole Marcus’ jewelry and filmed the incident for their Snapchat fans.
They showed themselves stealing items from the dead man as one of the teens complemented their fashion style despite the dead man right in front of them.
According to an arrest affidavit, the video showed Martin and her friend removing a chain and medallion from Marcus Adams’s neck.
After the incident, Martin was arrested on a charge of theft to a human corpse or gave. Bexar County officials confirmed that they arrested Martin and threw her in jail, although she was not held for long because she managed to post the $2,000 bond and get out pending her trial.
The Sherriff’s office was then made aware of the Snapchat video which had gone viral online.
What a bizarre story, right?
