A Construction Crew Has Made A Chilling Discovery On O.J. Simpson’s Old Property…

The Brentwood estate that once belonged to O.J. Simpson remains a focal point of fascination and is still shrouded in mystery. And even though the property was razed in 1998, 360 N. Rockingham Avenue is still making news.

The notorious address anachronistically took center stage last week when the LAPD announced that a knife had, as far as they’d been told, been found buried on what used to be Simpson’s property and was being tested for traces of evidence that could possibly connect it the 1994 double murder of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman.

A former Los Angeles traffic cop claims he was working security on a film shoot around 2002 or 2003 when a construction worker approached him with a rusty knife allegedly unearthed at Simpson’s Brentwood property down the street, LAPD officials said. The infamous mansion was demolished and replaced in 1998.

George Maycott, who retired from the LAPD that same year, called the department’s West L.A. division the night the worker handed him the knife, according to his lawyer. But the watch commander brushed him off, saying Simpson had been acquitted and there was nothing more the department could do, the lawyer said.

“Because what he said from the start turned out to be true,” the lawyer added. “Although this was a knife that was allegedly found on the property, it was clearly not the knife connected to the murders.”

The forensic testing ended up proving what experts claimed from the beginning: the knife was very different from the suspected murder weapon.

For starters, it only had a five-inch fixed blade when a coroner testified at the trial that the weapon that killed Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman had at least a six-and-a-half-inch blade.

It’s unclear if Maycott will face any criminal charges.
